Yardstick Software nominated as an ASTech Finalist & one of Alberta’s best in science and technology innovation 2009 ASTech awards
(Calgary, July 20th, 2009). 21 of Alberta’s top scientists and innovators are selected as finalists for the 2009 ASTech awards. The Alberta Science and Technology Leadership Foundation received an impressive 78 nominations for the province’s most prestigious awards. From food safety, to clean energy technology, to computer software, to health therapies, the ASTech award finalists are discovering - and delivering – innovative answers to society’s problems. The ASTech awards give public recognition to their groundbreaking work. In drawing up its list of finalists, ASTech looks for solutions that move out of the lab and into the marketplace.
“ASTech is committed to inspiring the next generation of innovation. Innovation provides us with world class companies developing high tech products from Alberta for a world audience in an increasingly diversified Alberta economy,” says Martin Kratz, chair of the ASTech Foundation. Alberta’s reputation of discovery in science and technology already has international renown. The ASTech awards build on this. Kratz adds “ASTech's celebration of the leaders who are making Alberta a better place makes our province more attractive for businesses and students to build their future here. That, in turn, improves our economy and quality of life”.
The ASTech awards recipients will be celebrated on November 6th 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Calgary. Yardstick Software has been nominated as a finalist in the Outstanding Commercial Achievement in Alberta Science and Technology (gross sales < 25M) category.
